This is an 88-note ‘Push-Up’ or ‘Vorsetzer’, made by the Wilcox & White Company in the USA probably before World War 1. It incorporates the patent Angelus pouch-action, whereby the piano key-playing fingers are operated by thin leather membranes that move when vacuum is applied under them. It is complete and in need of full restoration, and situated in Bedfordshire. The casework is ebonised. This is an extremely rare instrument, and I am not aware of another one in the UK (or elsewhere, come to that!). Please contact us for further details.
